PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Design, supply and construct acoustic absorptive barrier walls around three 54.9 MW reactors and guarantee a minimum 8 dB average sound level reduction. The acoustic treatment was installed in the client’s shop in Jundiaí in São Paulo State.

SCOPE OF WORK

Design, supply and construct panelized acoustic absorptive barrier walls complete with removable panels. Exterior dimensions 3m (w) x 3.2m (l) x 4.2m (h). 

ACOUSTICAL REQUIREMENTS

A guaranteed average of 8 dB sound level reduction.

NOISE SOURCES

A 54.9 MW Reactor designed to absorb voltage fluctuations in the high voltage power grid. Sound levels recorded at 1/3 and 2/3 of the wall height averaged 78 dB(A).

INNOVA’s proprietary B35 Assembly complete with removable panels and pipe penetrations.

UNIQUE PROJECT HURDLES

Design a unique panelized system using materials that can withstand a marine environment. Working under a very tight schedule in the client's plant, often at night in order to accommodate reactor assembly. Barrier walls to be designed to withstand 3G and 5G lifting and moving forces during transport from Jundiaí to San Diego, California.
