PROJECT DESCRIPTION

At a 300 MW simple cycle, natural gas peaking plant Design, manufacture, and supply of two complete exhaust systems: expansion joint, transition, base module, inlet breeching section and custom designed silencer for the 75’ exhaust stack. Four days of technical field assistance also provided. 

 

 

ACOUSTICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 60 dBA at 400ft, with both units operating
  • 85 dBA at 3ft from stack, 5ft from the ground

Two GE Frame 7FA Combustion Turbines

Higgott-Kane Designed and supplied two (2) complete exhaust systems, including:

UNIQUE PROJECT HURDLES

The high temperature and turbulence from the GE 7FA turbine, combined with the cycling conditions of the facility, meant a number of stresses would be placed on the exhaust system. The company needed a reliable and experienced partner. Higgott-Kane designed and supplied a customized and complete exhaust system guaranteed to meet all acoustic, flow and thermal design requirements.
